LDP Donza squeezes by Avanti Brugge

LDP Donza came up with the 80-82 win in Brugge on Saturday Night, handig Avanti Brugge their third loss in 5 games. That way, Donza still has the top 4 in their sight.

LDP Donza wasn't impressed by the always packed Stamina gym in Bruges and had the best start to the game. A big second quarter gave them a pretty comfortable 33-44 lead at halftime.

But the defending champions Donza had an Avanti rush coming in the second half. At first Donza could keep up their bonus in the third quarter, but Brugge had a big fourth quarter in store. Led by Joeri Vermoesen, who was 7 for 8 from downtown, Avanti got themselves back into the game. With 76-76 and 2 minutes to play, it was a huge Rik Van Den Berghe 3 and 2 important Sander Van Caeneghem free throws who gave Donza the victory in the end.

ABO LDP Donza improve their record to 7-4, while Avanti holds a 6-5 record. Sander Van Caeneghem was Donza's top performer with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Joeri Vermoesen ended with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.
