Both BC Sprimont (9-2) and Basket Willebroek (8-3) booked wins over the weekend, so they manifest their position on top of the league in Top Division Men 2A.
BC Sprimont had to go on the road over the weekend, visiting Bavi Vilvoorde. The steady Liège-side squad took a great start to the game, running away with a 5-13 score, with buckets from Maxence Dekeyser. Vilvoorde couldn't count on their big man, Joe Agu, and tried to keep up in the first quarter. At halftime, the Sprimont lead was up to 29-40.
In the second half, Sprimont kept their foot on the gas and pushed the lead to almost 20. Finally, Vilvoorde suffered a big 51-79 home loss. Loïc Meunier put up a 14 points-12 rebounds double-double for Sprimont, who had 3 more guys in double figures with Pierre Geubel, Pierrick Van Den Brule and Néo Collin.
Willebroek gets easy win over Andenne
Earlier in the week, Basket Willebroek paid a visit to last ranked Andenne Basket. The Willebroek squad was looking for their 8th win of the season, while Andenne wanted to win their third game.
In the first half, the home side played well and proved a tough opponent for Willebroek. But in the second half, Willebroek only allowed 24 points, while they scored 41 points of their own, leading to an easy 54-79 win in the end.
Tom Ackermans was the high-point man for Willebroek with 17 points and 4 rebounds. Maxime Tchako added 14 points and 4 rebounds.
