One of last year's top scorers, Andrej Cuyvers, got off to an incredible start in the new season of Top Division Men One.

The new season in TDM1 started off with a bang last weekend.
Apart from some unexpected results (Spirou B defeating Kontich and Willebroek beating Liège), we also had a couple of standout performances.
In the season opener of last year's finalist Guco Lier, star player Andrej Cuyvers started off the season extremely dominant. Against SKT Ieper, Lier chipped away in the 4th quarter, eventually winning 87-79.
Cuyvers, who played a total of 39 minutes and 22 seconds, finished the night with 40 points. Shooting 6/10 on 2-pointers and 2/8 from three point range, but the most remarkable stat came from the free throw line. Hitting 22 of his 25 (!) free throws, Cuyvers really was impossible to stop for away-side Ieper. Adding 9 rebounds and 3 assists and finishing with an index of 37, it was an unforgettable night for Cuyvers.
Adding to that 40-point game, we must also mention Ferre Vanderhoydonck. The do-it-all forward did indeed do it all vs. Ieper and posted a very rare triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. So we had huge contributions from both Guco-forwards.
Next week Lier travels to Liège, who fell 102-97 to newcomer Willebroek.
